Living In France – Interview with ABC Newcastle Radio
Ever wondered what living in France is like as an expat or part-time expat?
Well, I got the chance to share my thoughts on this and what’s happening over here in France at the moment during a series of interviews on ABC 1233 Newcastle radio with their delightful host, Paul Bevan.
The ABC have an interesting, and usually lively, weekly segment called ‘Lived Here, Now Lives There’ and I was invited to appear in a ‘teaser’ interview a few weeks back prior to our departure to France. Listen to this interview here about what our village looks like and where we are located, how our children manage being away from school, speaking French and more. This teaser interview was a one-off as an introduction for the full series of interviews to take place whilst we were in residence at our second home in France.
Introduction Interview Live in Newcastle Studio
Meeting Paul Bevan and producer Nathanael Little in the Newcastle studio was fun and with lots of laughs we continued our chat after the live segment and seemed to agree all round that Newcastle is definitely a great place to live, but if you had to choose a second home, then France was a romping good second choice!
Due to commitments and global time differences some of you were not able to listen to the interviews live from France and asked me to post the audio files so you can catch up on what it is like to live in a busy (during harvest time at least), rural farming village in the heart of Brittany. Here are the interviews …
Interview 1 Live from France – Tuesday, 18 September 2018 (starts at 1.50 mins)
Weather in Brittany, visiting WWII graves, maintaining a house in France, a car that won’t start and more..
Interview 2 Live from France – Tuesday, 25 September 2018
Brittany and the Breton language, the home of gingham fabric, a kayaking club’s 50 year anniversary and more…
Interview 3 Live from France – Tuesday, 2 October 2018
A visit from the village priest, sailing from Port la Forêt, driving a German hire car, getting an English car registered in France and more…
I wish to say a huge thanks to everyone who sent lovely messages saying ‘hi’ after hearing an interview or ‘congrats’ on the series, it’s so lovely to know you all enjoyed listening.
Thanks to Paul Bevan, Nathanael Little and ABC Newcastle for the experience and chance to share our story.
