All From One Suitcase – Essential Packing Tips!
Do you always carry too much luggage? Do you struggle to decide what to pack?
On my recent trip I once again packed following my own guidelines as posted in 10 Simple Packing Tips to Stop Pre-Travel Trauma and, by wearing on the plane the bulkiest jacket and shoes that were part of the wardrobe for this trip, managed to have enough outfits and options for my 4 week trip. I am a firm believer in mixing and matching outfits and only pieces that can be worn in many ways get to be part of any travel wardrobe.
In fact, the swimmers and a couple of the summer tops that I took were never worn as, once again, the UK and France were not quite as warm as I expected! Going between such differing climates of the northern and southern hemispheres can be challenging when deciding what to pack.
I even took additional period clothes for the Classic Goodwood Revival Car Race where dressing for the occasion is a must for all spectators. This meant taking dress gloves, a hat, shoes and a bulky woollen coat that I would not normally wear, and definitely not on holidays, as part of this wardrobe. This coat was the only piece I did not wear in a multiple of situations as it was specific to my period costume for Goodwood.
Mix n Match Is The Way To Go
I have put together photos of some of my outfits taken whilst away. However, fair warning is now given … I am not a fashion blogger or model; my daughter took all photos on my iPhone6; and they are just my normal clothes that I took and wore on my holiday with my three children!! But you will get the gist, it is really only just to give you an idea of how layering clothes and mixing and matching your wardrobe allows you to dress well, be comfortable and still only take a small bag. You will transit easily and enjoy your holiday more. No dragging large bags around and avoiding stairs. Yay!!
PS. One more thought, if you take a jersey pyjama top that has a bit of lace or frills you can wear that with jeans as another outfit if really needed.

Having the right suitcase also makes travelling easier and Samsonite is our preferred luggage brand. Samsonite suitcases and bags are sturdy, lightweight and attractive. The wheels move freely and the handles extend securely to make pulling your bag easy work. At the end of a long flight there is nothing worse than wrestling with a large awkward bag on taxis, trains and cobbled pavements.
