Are you dreaming of exploring the stunning coastline of Brittany with its harbours, rugged cliffs, white sand and little marine villages? Maybe the cobblestoned medieval towns overflowing with flowers and small cafes appeals to you, but you've not wanted to travel alone or find driving in France or putting all the pieces together a bit daunting.
If so, then I'd love you to join me on our Discover Normandy & Brittany Tour where together we'll laugh, eat and marvel at ancient fortresses and half timbered houses as we gently explore Normandy and Brittany.

All Women Small Group Escorted 7 Day Tours
Offering all-women small group escorted tours, for 7 days (6 nights) lead by me, we will experience true French life at a genteel pace creating memories of a lifetime together. Walking quaint streets on foot, wandering shops, beaches and museums and taking the time to sit and sample the rich dairy foods, seafood and cider Brittany is famous for, is something we love to do on A French Collection tours.
Walking the ancient walls of Saint Malo, the cloisters of Mont Saint-Michel and the cobbled narrow streets of Dinan are just a few of the highlights. We also visit the Pink Granite Coast with its large boulder formations and walk the coastal pathway along side the local families.
Having lived in Brittany part time over the last 10 years with my family I am delighted to now share this stunning and diverse region with you and show you the special things that make living in France so amazing. Live like a local and take home your own tales of life in France.
Day 1 - Impressionist painters, Joan of Arc and Magical Honfleur
Imagine seeing the half timbered buildings that have stood the test of time, walking the same wobbly cobbled streets that Joan of Arc and Claude Monet walked, buying fresh fruit or beautiful flowers at the Rouen Markets - and all before lunch. After lunch we head to the ancient harbour of Honfleur to shop, relax over a glass of wine or go exploring. Imagine a seafood dinner on the docks under the setting sun as you chat about your day's activities with your new friends. A short gentle stroll will take us back to our hotel for the night.
Day 2 - Deauville, The Battle of Hastings & WWII
After a typical French breakfast we head to Deauville, to see the belle Époque villas, grand beachside hotels and famous casinos. You'll visit the ancient large covered market square, stop for morning tea, or shop the upmarket boutiques before we head to Bayeux to see the famed Bayeux Tapestry. The immense embroidered cloth will leave you spellbound and a visit to Bayeux Cathedral, Omaha Beach and a delicious dinner at Bayeux ends Day 2.
Day 3 - Stunning Mont St-Michel, Crepes & Half Timbered Buildings
Mont St Michel and The Bay were the first two UNESCO sites ever listed in France in 1979 and the abbey has to be seen to be believed. Climb to the summit and gaze out over the moving tides before savouring La Mère du Poulard's famous omelettes and crepes. Look out over paddocks and maize fields as we drive through the countryside to Dinan for our river cruise (seasonal activity) walk along the rampart walls and wander through the town soaking up the ancient history. With regional cider, fresh seafood and tempting desserts, this town will remain a favourite.
Day 4 - Dinard the Elegant Resort Town and St Malo the Home of Pirates
Relive the elegant days when Dinard was France's top summer resort before the French riviera took over with the fresh breeze blowing your hair on our beachfront cycle path walk, lunch and gentle explore of the pretty town. Stunning St Malo, the home of pirates, has secret hiding holes in the walls, passages and wiggly laneways just waiting to be explored. Beach walks, marina strolls, boutique shopping and cafes all beckon. A special night staying within the city walls of St Malo will make this one of your favourite days.
Day 5 - Flower filled Pontriuex, A Ferry Ride and Quaint Perros Guirec
Flowers overflow in the picturesque colour filled Pontriuex and after filling up on fresh pastries we take a boat ride (seasonal) or walk along the Trieux River. Lavoirs, sweet public gardens and iconic buildings are perfect for snapping photos. Picture perfect Perros Guirec is surrounded by fishing villages, sailing boats and houses perched on cliffs - just waiting for you to find and explore.
Day 6 - Pink Granite Coastal Walk, Lannion and Walled Town Laval
Brush shoulders with the locals along the majestic Pink Granite Coast as we walk the coastal path along the pristine beach and huge boulders that look like giant playing marbles. Be amazed at the colourful fishing boats in this area resting amongst the seaweed at low tide before our steaming morning coffee. Mussels, crepes, or a croque monsieur at Lannion (of the Templar Knights fame) while gazing at sloping half timbered houses and the pretty gardens and scenic river walk of Laval will have you wishing your tour would never end.
Day 7 - World Famous Chartres Cathedrale and Labyrinth
Impressive and miraculously undamaged during WWII, the world famous UNESCO listed Chartres Cathedrale and labyrinth will stun you. After lunch and souvenir shopping we drive back to our starting point for the drop off of all guests to Charles du Gaulle Airport.
